What will you and your child's brain do this summer?
Summer Slide is used to describe the slide backwards that many children experience over the summer. Because they don't have the same frequency and commitment to reading that they do in school, they can start to regress (sometimes up to 3 months in terms of reading development). This means they could go back to school in September further behind than their assessed level in June.
However, one of the easiest way to combat summer slide is by encouraging your child to devote time every day to reading. And that's where our Brain Camp Kit can help! It's chocked full of great ideas to keep kids reading, writing, singing, talking and playing all summer long.
When kids are creative and busy during the summer, they'll build their brain’s capacity for ongoing learning.
